Literature Text

Music;

The queasy excitement floods my chest,

I’m drifting down a river of lukewarm blood,

Tasting the copper penny rust of the melody’s

Spinning brass gears winding in my stomach.

Its scent of wet soil, smoky jungle

Eats my skin, and I’m nothing but flesh and bone

Under its power.

Ribbons of pink, green, orange wrap in my mind

Like electric northern lights,

And my body splits down in a burst of seething radiance.

I can smell cloves and misty seas under the

blanket of quivering notes that is my new skin.

Ecstatic guitars cry in my ears, and the

Syrupy bass pounds through my veins until

They’re coarse like sand.

And I bask in the phenomenon.

Music.
English class assignment, liked how it sounded. All there is to it, I s'pose.
